Fleet software that started in a DSP’s parking lot
Motentra is built by the Motentra team for the people who keep vehicles on the road — first for an Amazon DSP we’re part of, now for delivery, service and trucking fleets of every size.
Why we built Motentra
Motentra started inside an Amazon DSP we’re part of. Every evening the same questions came up: which vans came back with new damage, which were overdue for an oil change, which in-cab camera had stopped working, and which vans would actually be ready for the morning’s load-out. The answers lived on clipboards, in group chats and in a spreadsheet that was always a few days behind.
We build software for a living, so we built the tool that DSP needed: an end-of-shift check a fleet lead can finish in under a minute a van, damage logged with photos and a name, and maintenance counted against the odometer instead of a guess.
It was built and refined alongside The Positive Route Works, where it runs every day. A lot of what Motentra does exists because someone in that parking lot asked for it — and a lot of what it doesn’t do was cut because nobody there would use it.
In 2026 we opened it up beyond DSPs. The same app now runs three ways — for Amazon DSPs, for service and general fleets, and for trucking companies under FMCSA rules — each with its own inspection, vocabulary and maintenance list.
What we hold ourselves to
A short list, and the reason the product looks the way it does.
Built for a phone in a parking lot
Every screen assumes one hand, bad light and thirty seconds. If it doesn’t work at the van at 7pm, it doesn’t ship.
A record, not a GPS dot
We don’t sell telematics. Motentra is the record of a vehicle’s condition — inspections, damage and maintenance — that telematics doesn’t keep.
Nothing to install
It runs in any phone browser: no hardware, no app store accounts, no IT project. Native apps are coming as an option, never a requirement.
Your data, walled off
Every account’s data is isolated at the database level, and role-based access decides who sees what inside your company.
Straight answers on price
Pricing scales with fleet size, and you get a real number for your vehicle count on the first call — not a quote-gathering exercise.
Honest about what’s next
Features in development are described as intent, not promised with dates we might miss. When something ships, the people using Motentra hear first.
How we write our guides
The guides in our Resources section are written by the Motentra team from day-to-day fleet work. They follow a few rules:
- Regulations come from the source. FMCSA rules are checked against the eCFR and the Federal Register and linked, so you can read the text yourself.
- Claims are linked. Industry facts point to the reporting or documents they come from.
- Dates are on everything. Every guide shows when it was last updated, and we revise guides when the rules change.
- Useful with any tool. Guides explain how to do the job, whatever software you run. Where Motentra helps, we say so once, plainly.
- Not legal advice. For a compliance decision, read the regulation and talk to your safety advisor.
