Motentra vs Fleetio: which fits your fleet?
A straight comparison from the Motentra side: what each product is built for, how they differ on inspections, damage, maintenance, apps, integrations and pricing — and when Fleetio is the better choice.
The short version. Fleetio is a broad, established fleet management platform: web and mobile apps, work orders, parts inventory, fuel and telematics integrations, and published prices from $4 per vehicle a month. Motentra is narrower on purpose — inspections, damage and maintenance for Amazon DSPs, service fleets and small carriers, run from a phone browser and set up for you. If you need integrations and shop management, look hard at Fleetio. If your problem is getting inspections done, damage on record and maintenance on time without a software project, Motentra is built for that.
We make Motentra, so read this with that in mind. Fleetio details come from Fleetio’s pricing and plan comparison page as of October 2, 2026, and we say plainly where Fleetio does more.

Where Fleetio is the stronger choice
- You want native mobile apps today, including inspections that work offline.
- You run your own shop and need work orders, parts inventory, purchase orders and labor tracking.
- You want data flowing in automatically from fuel cards and telematics, or API access to your own systems.
- You want to start alone, with published prices and a self-serve trial before talking to anyone.
- You run a large or multi-location fleet with many roles, groups and custom workflows.
Where Motentra fits better
- You run an Amazon DSP. The end-of-shift check closes out a van in under a minute — tires by wheel, warning lights, Netradyne camera status, damage photos, fuel or charge level and cleanliness — and DSP vans get their own fifteen service types.
- Damage is your expensive problem. Every report is pinned to a body area, rated, photographed and attributed, so a rental company, lessor or insurer gets an answer in seconds. See vehicle damage tracking.
- Your mileage lives in inspections, not telematics. The odometer reading from each inspection drives oil changes and PM schedules, with no integration to set up.
- Nobody will install an app. Everything runs from a link and a QR code inside the door.
- You would rather not build it yourself. Your vehicle list is loaded for you before day one.
Pricing, side by side
Fleetio publishes per-vehicle prices: $4 a month on Essential billed annually or $5 billed monthly, $7 on Professional and $10 on Premium, both billed annually only. Its page notes that subscriptions are priced on plan, fleet size range, contract term and payment term, and that the prices shown assume a fleet of five assets — so ask for a quote at your size.
Motentra’s pricing scales with fleet size too. Book a demo and you get a straight number for your vehicle count on the call, so you can put the two side by side for the fleet you actually run.
