The short version. If Fleetio feels like more than a small fleet needs, four alternatives are worth a look: Simply Fleet for the lowest published price (free for up to 5 vehicles), AUTOsist for maintenance with optional GPS and camera bundles, Whip Around for an inspection-first program, and Motentra for inspections, damage and maintenance on DSP vans and small fleets, run from a phone browser. Prices are as listed on each company’s site on October 2, 2026.

We make Motentra, and it is on this list. Every option here — ours included — is described from what each company publishes, with links so you can check.

What a small fleet usually needs

  • Inspections that drivers or a fleet lead will actually do, on a phone.
  • Maintenance reminders counted from real mileage, not a guess.
  • A dated record of damage and repairs for lessors, rental companies and insurers.
  • Pricing that makes sense for 5 to 50 vehicles.
  • Setup measured in days, not a software project.

Fleetio, for reference

Fleetio lists three plans: Essential at $4 per vehicle per month billed annually ($5 billed monthly), Professional at $7 and Premium at $10, both billed annually only. Its page notes that the prices shown assume a five-asset fleet and that subscriptions are priced on plan, fleet size range, contract and payment term. Every plan includes unlimited users, the Fleetio Go mobile app, offline inspections and fuel and telematics integrations; work orders and parts inventory start on Professional. There is a 14-day free trial with no credit card. (Fleetio pricing; see also Motentra vs Fleetio.)

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest alternative to Fleetio?
Of the options here, Simply Fleet publishes the lowest prices: free for up to 5 vehicles and 3 users, then $3 per vehicle per month on its Essential plan, as listed on October 2, 2026.
Is there a free version of Fleetio?
Fleetio offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Its plans start at $4 per vehicle per month on Essential, billed annually.
Which Fleetio alternative is best for an Amazon DSP?
Motentra is built around DSP vans: an end-of-shift check with tires by wheel, warning lights, camera status and damage photos, damage logged by body area for rental and turn-in disputes, and fifteen DSP van service types. We make it, so weigh that — and compare it with the others on this page.
Do any of these include GPS tracking?
AUTOsist sells GPS and telematics bundles alongside its maintenance plan. Fleetio, Simply Fleet and Whip Around integrate with telematics providers. Motentra does not do GPS tracking; it records mileage at each inspection.
How did you choose these alternatives?
We picked tools that publish a small-fleet offering, cover inspections and maintenance, and run on phones, and we included Motentra because we make it. Prices and features come from each company’s own site on October 2, 2026.
